Biography

Ashlee began her music career at Elm Creative Arts Elementary School in Milwaukee, WI. Upon entering high school she performed in her school chorus as a featured soloist and toured as far as Florida (that's a long way from Wisconsin). Ashlee sang in college working for a Karaoke company and continued to pursue music as a hobby - one she happened to be really good at.

After moving to Statesboro, she continued singing Karaoke at local establishments and in the summer of 2003, one of her audience members happened to be Chris Mitchell. After hearing her sing that night, Chris asked her on a date. Exactly one year from their first date, they were engaged. A year later, they were married. They now tour together and recently published Ashlee's first solo release on Pladd Dot Records entitled a lullaby album.

Ashlee tours with several bands throughout the southeast.  She has made a name for herself as a performer.  Her voice is “a big sound in a small package”.

a lullaby album was produced because many of Ashlee’s friends requested her to record a few lullabies for their newborns.  After the list kept growing, she immediately saw the need to record the album. Although she’s known for her soulful R&B and blues sound, a lullaby album is a different sound for Ashlee.  She becomes much more introverted and the album focuses on the purity of her vocal range, rather than her brassy raw power.
